General Rules and Regulations1. The show is known as “Borrowby Agricultural & Horticultural Society’s Combined Show and Gymkhana” and includes a Womens’ Institute Section and a Children’s Section. 2. The object of the Society is to advance Horticulture and Agriculture for the benefit of the public and for this purpose to hold an Annual Show. 3. The general management is in the hands of the President, Vice-President, Chairman, Secretary and a Committee, none of whom shall be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury of any kind which may be done to or by any entry or for any loss sustained by or any damage suffered by any entrant, competitor, spectator or any member of the public in any manner whatsoever. 4. The Committee may make such Rules and Regulations as they think necessary at any time and may amend any of the same whenever appropriate without notice and have power to refuse any entry without giving any reason or withhold any prize if there appears insufficient merit in the exhibit or any wrong entry. 5. Any dispute or complaint arising from any cause whatsoever must be made to the Secretary in writing as soon as practicable and in any event before the close of the Show or Gymkhana (as the case may be) together with a deposit of £20.00 which may be retained by the Committee should the objection not be upheld and the Committee reserves the right to deal with these and any other matters in such manner as they consider proper. All decisions of the Committee shall be binding on all concerned and without any right of appeal. 6. Judges: In case of disagreement the Stewards shall appoint a Referee who will place the exhibits in order of merit and his decision shall be final and conclusive. Judges have power to disqualify any exhibit if they consider it over the age or weight for the class or other wise not qualified. 7. Any person who has been disqualified from showing must apply in writing to the Committee for removal of disqualification if he/she wishes to compete in the show. 8. Please note the fact that you have entered the “Borrowby Agricultural & Horticultural Society’s Combined Show and Gymkhana”, means that your name and address will be entered into and published in our list of exhibitors. We may also use this information for promotion publicity and future mailings undertaken by or on behalf of this show society. Agricultural and Equine Rules and Regulations1. Tent exhibits to be in position by 11.00 am and to remain until 4.30pm. Judging to commence at 11.30 am. 2. Judging to commence as per schedule. Each animal must wear the number by which it is distinguished in the Catalogue and its attendant must remain in charge of it and not leave the Show Field or permit the animal (excluding horses and ponies) to leave until 4.30 pm subject to special permission from the Committee and to a penalty of £20.00 for any infringement. 3. All animals entered to have been the bona fide property of the exhibitor. 4. Grain and Roots to have been grown by the Exhibitor. 5. All prize winners will parade in the Show Ring when requested to do so. Anyone in default is liable to forfeit all prizes won. 6. All entries with entry fee (independent from Subscription) to be received by the Secretary not later than 10.00 am on 17th July, 2006. 7. Prize money will be paid out on the day of the Show at the Secretary’s Tent subject to the determination of any dispute or complaint. 8. No Pony under four years old to be entered in the Riding Classes. Horticultural & Produce Rules & Regulations1. All Produce, Flowers and Vegetables must be the growth of the Competitor’s own garden. All entries to be made on a printed certificate to be obtained from the Secretary. All entry fees to accompany form to the Secretary. 2. The garden of an exhibitor shall be open for inspection by any of the Committee or any person appointed by them. 3. The gates of the Show Grounds will be open to receive Tent Exhibits for competition up to 11.00 am at which hour the Tent will be cleared of all persons except the stewards. The Judges will proceed to examine the merits of the subject exhibited. 4. Exhibits to remain in Tent until 4.30 pm. 5. The Secretary will deliver on application numbered tickets to be affixed to the articles intended for competition. 6. The Committee will take every care of the articles exhibited but will not hold themselves responsible for any loss or damage. 7. Exhibitors of Trays are requested to place on them which prize they are competing for. 8. Prize Money will be paid out on the day of the Show at the Secretary’s Tent subject to the determination of any dispute or complaint. 9. Prize Money not claimed by August 2006, will be forfeit and placed in the funds of the Society. 10. Any Tent Exhibitor entering more than 8 entries of 50p will receive a ticket for admission to the field.
