Borrowby show Wednesday 29th July 2009

 

Borrowby show was first held in 1949, it is now a regular feature on the last Wednesday  in July.

 

Field classes cover most farm animals. Tent classes and exhibits range from, cattle, sheep and farm produce through garden produce, flowers, cookery, wine, arts & crafts and children's competitions. There are show jumping events, a gymkhana and a fancy dress parade. Trade stands and other attractions add further interest and a dance is held in the evening in the marquee. Licensed Bar, Refreshments, Ice Cream.

Ring 1

10.30 am Classes 1 - 7 Coloured Horses & Ponies

1.00 pm Classes12 - 17 Hunters & Ridden Hunters

2.30 pm Display by The Forestry Horse

Followed with Parade by Hurworth Hounds

Classes 44 - 46 Fancy Dress

Presentation of Trophies

5.00 pm Display by The Forestry Horse

Evening events - Bike Race, Tug of War & Dog Races

Ring 2

10.00 am Classes 8 - 11 Arabs

12.30 pm Classes 41 - 43 Rehabilitated Racehorses

2.00 pm Classes 21 -24 Show Ponies

4.00 pm Gymkhana

Ring 3

11.00 am Classes 22 - 25 Riding Pony Breeding

followed by Classes 26 - 32 Mountain & Moorland Ponies

4.00pm Parade of Vintage Cars & Machinery

Ring 4

10.30am Classes 33 - 38 Working Hunter Ponies

followed by Classes 39 -40 Restricted Ridden

Dog Show 2.30 pm

Gymkhana 4.00 pm
